Gruntlers, in close association with Russkiy Mir, is honoured to announce that our next literary salon with Lord Laird.
As an author, politician and scholar, Lord Laird has taken an active interest in the social affairs of Northern Ireland for a number of years. Indeed, he was the youngest member of the Northern Ireland Parliament during some of the most turbulent times in that nations history.
His services to the Crown being recognised in 1999, when he was installed as Baron Laird of Artigarvan, in the County of Tyrone. Lord Laird has also shown a keen interest in Azerbaijan and the Caucasus region, recognising, perhaps, a similar independence of mind to the Irish. That said, Lord Laird will talk with our literary Salon this evening about his book «A Struggle to be Heard»; a witty examination of Identity Politics in a land haunted by its past.
